Hello, 2024
Happy New Year! We hope it will be filled with opportunity, good health, and success for you and your families.
Is 2024 also going to be the year you make the move you know you should?
As the chart below shows, 2023 ended with mortgage interest rates under 7%. (Assuming good credit, etc.) The real experts say that rates could drop a bit lower, but the 3-4% of a few years ago is a thing of the past as that was in response to the economic conditions surrounding the pandemic.

While rates dropped, prices continued to increase at a modest level last year. That’s expected to continue in 2024.
There was no crash. An estimated 11 million homes were sold in 2023. Mortgage defaults were at a minimum, because of the equity so many had in their properties.
In short, the gloom and doomers got it wrong (again) whether your Uncle Bob “who knows a little something about real estate” or a so-called expert on your favorite cable news channel.
That’s not to say that the housing market isn’t faced with affordability issues. But many lenders have identified ways to assist buyers. Homeowners also have an untapped advantage in their current properties’ equity.
We know that for a variety of reasons you may have held off on making the move you should . But how much longer can you delay? That two bedroom ranch you bought when it was just three of you, is getting pretty tight now that there are five people in the family and an older relative needs to move in. The colonial with three bedrooms and two baths is getting expensive with the kids gone and maybe you’re even all alone.
Let’s talk soon. Many of the real experts are predicting that because of pent-up demand and lower interest rates, the market is going to be heating up sooner rather than later. We’re here to listen and are committed to giving you an honest assessment about your options. You can reach us at 508-360-5664 or [email protected].
Let’s make 2024 the year you “make your move with Mari.”
